Practical Information for Visitors to St Bede’s

Whether you are joining us for one of our regular Sunday or Wednesday services, a baptism, wedding or funeral, or just want to pray in silence – welcome at St Bede’s Church.

We’re here for you.

Parking

Parking is available on the southern side of the church hall. If you are inviting guests to a pastoral service, such as a baptism, wedding or funeral, please let them know where they may park.

Welcome and Assistance

At Wednesday and Sunday services, a Welcomer will greet you at the door and provide the hymn book, pew bulletin and order of service you need to participate. Please ask the Welcomer any questions or seek their assistance at any time. We want you to feel at home in our church.

Accessibility

Do let us know in advance if wheelchair or walker access is required. Leave a message on 8449 5064 before the service so we can make the necessary arrangements. Thank you.
Ramp access is through the porch on the southern side of the church. Concrete pathways can be reached from all driveway entrances off Military Road. Wheelchairs may be positioned in front of the pews, and chairs with arms are available for anyone finding the pews difficult.
On arrival, please speak to the Welcomer for assistance.

Children’s Corner

A dedicated corner of the church is available for young and primary-school-aged children. Parents and carers can sit nearby to supervise them while still participating in the service.

Holy Communion

When a service includes Holy Communion, everyone is welcome to receive the Sacrament of the consecrated bread and wine. Alternatively, you may come to the altar rail to receive a blessing. Children are also warmly invited to come forward for a blessing or the Sacrament.

Morning Tea

On Sundays, after the 9.30am Holy Communion service, the congregation gathers for morning tea and fellowship. Visitors are warmly invited to stay and enjoy our hospitality. If you’re joining us for the 8am Sunday service, please come along to Suani’s at 73 Semaphore Road afterwards.
On Wednesdays, our service at 10am is also followed by morning tea – please join us.

Photography and Video Recording

Photographs and video-recordings are not permitted during services, except with the consent of the priest.

Toilets

Toilets are located in the hall, adjacent to the main hall area.

Collect the key with the orange tag from the wall near the church entrance and use it to open kitchen doors. Pass through the kitchen to the main hall where you will find the signs for toilets. After using the facilities, please lock the hall and return the key.

At our regular services, the Welcomer can assist you if needed.
